1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website to store information. For technical preferences, Spuma prefers localStorage (the browser’s local storage, with no automatic sending to the server).
2. What Spuma uses (and does NOT use)
✅ Technical local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage)
| Key | Data | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
spuma_lang | Language code (fr/en/es/it/de) | Remember your choice of language | Until manually deleted |
spuma_recette | Recipe in progress (JSON) | Avoid losing your work if you close the tab | Until manually deleted |
spuma_saved_recipes | Saved recipes (anonymous User) | Keep recipes without registering | Until manually deleted |
spuma_parcours_debutant | Progress through the beginner journey (steps completed, current step) | Resume the beginner journey where you left off | Until manually deleted |
spuma_lu_…, spuma_articles_lus, spuma_carte_read_items | Pages and articles marked as read, pages already opened | Show your progress on the knowledge map and on the pages | Until manually deleted |
spuma_tweaks | Animation settings (dev mode) | Internal customisation | Until manually deleted |
spuma_kpis_minimized | Whether the calculator’s results bar is collapsed (phone and tablet, session storage) | Keep the bar collapsed if you have collapsed it | Until the tab is closed |
spuma_rechargement | Time of the last automatic page reload (session storage) | Reload the page only once when app files are missing during an update, without looping | Until the tab is closed |
spuma_erreurs_envoyees | Short hashes of technical errors already reported, with no personal data (session storage) | Send at most three error reports per tab, never twice for the same error (see the Privacy Policy, section 2.4) | Until the tab is closed |
sb-...-auth-token (Supabase) | JWT session token | Keep you signed in between visits | Session expiry or logout |
This data stays on your device. It is not sent to any third party; only the session token is attached to requests to Supabase (our processor) when you are logged in to your account.
❌ What Spuma does NOT use
- No advertising cookies (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- No tracking cookies (Hotjar, FullStory, etc.)
- No third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- No social media cookies (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter)
- No browser fingerprinting
3. How can you delete this data?
You can delete the data stored locally by Spuma at any time:
- Full deletion: in your browser settings, delete the site data for
spuma.app. - Partial deletion: open the developer console (F12) → “Application” tab → “Local Storage” → “https://spuma.app” → delete the key you want.
- Private mode / Private browsing: no data is kept after the window is closed.
4. Audience measurement — Cloudflare Web Analytics
Spuma uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure, in aggregate form, perceived performance (loading time, smoothness of interaction) and page usage. This tool was chosen for its privacy-friendly features:
- No cookie is placed on your device.
- No individual identifier is created. Audience measurement does not recognise you from one visit to the next.
- No browser fingerprinting is used.
- No identifiable personal data is collected. The statistics are aggregated and anonymised by Cloudflare.
- No sharing of this data with commercial or advertising third parties.
This tool is exempt from the obligation to obtain consent under the guidelines of the CNIL (the French data protection authority) on strictly necessary audience measurement tools, and complies with the EU GDPR framework for aggregate measurement without profiling. This is why no consent banner is displayed.
If you wish, you can block this script with a content blocker (an extension such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger, or your browser’s tracking protection if it blocks it). The application then keeps working normally. However, disabling JavaScript for the spuma.app domain makes the application unusable, because calculations, saving and the interface depend on it.
